Wow wow wow, this property is absolutely incredible, by a long shot it’s the best airbnb we have ever stayed at, clearly there was a vision of how they wanted to deliver this experience, and what an experience it is. There was not a stone left unturned, the concept is absolutely outstanding, the execution of the concept faultless, there is everything you need for an incredible couple of nights and the quality of fixtures and fittings and kitchen/bathroom etc is bang on. The location is only a couple a minutes drive from Matakana Village where there is some outstanding amenities to enjoy. But lets not forget the location of The Green Tent, omg so peaceful, quiet and incredibly relaxing. Jo is a fantastic host, she is there is assist if required or as distant as you may want. Honestly I couldn’t talk more highly of this property, it’s quite something, it’s a MUST stay, You will love everything about it. We will most certainly be back

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience at The Green Tent! We arrived on a very wet evening, but the instructions to get inside were super clear and easy to follow. Once we entered the tent, it was so lovely and warm with Jo having put the heater on for our arrival - a welcome reprieve from the weather outside. We found everything was tidy, clean, and beautifully presented; with everything we'd need for a relaxing and peaceful weekend getaway. There were lots of small touches that were so thoughtful that we appreciated very much too. The kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor area were beautifully coordinated with the whole olive-green theme. We loved the festoon lights and the outdoor bathtub. Jo was easy to communicate with and very responsive. We can't recommend this accommodation enough!!

Words really cannot describe how wonderful this amazing little getaway is. It truly is a unique experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay. The location is just perfect, delightfully nestled in a charming rural setting. The Green Tent is spacious, comfy and warm, even on a chilly winter evening. Wow. What a beautiful stay. We loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to come back! Jo’s place is pristine - so clean and tidy, and everything seems brand new - from the cutlery to the linen. Stunningly designed interior and exterior. The yurt was beautiful. It’s larger on the inside than it looks on the outside.
There were great amenities in the yurt, the kitchen and the bathroom.
Everything was considered! Want to make s ’mores? Marshmallows and chocolate available. Want to have a warm, quiet stay in? Games are under the TV. We couldn’t recommend the stay more. Thanks Jo!

Absolutely stunning place! We spent two nights here for our mini-moon and enjoyed every minute, we didn't want to leave. The attention to detail Jo puts in is amazing, we didn't want for anything, nor would we have changed a single thing. We have been to many glamping spots around the country, and this was hands down the best. We explored the many gorgeous beaches, wine tasting at local vineyards, had the most delicious lunch at Rothko and walked through the Sculptureum, movies at the local cinema and dined out at JinJin and other local cafes. This was a birthday gift from our daughter and son in law and wow, wow, wow, Jo you have created a magical place! The yurt is so tastefully furnished with such attention to detail. The minute we arrived relaxation set in immediately. All of the little touches have truly made our stay amazing. The outdoor area being weatherproof and sheltered really adds to the ambience. To top off this piece of paradise, the outdoor bath with lovely little lanterns, looking out onto the empty fields and totally relaxing was the icing on the cake!

My husband and I work for an airline and travel for our daily career. We had 37 hours in Auckland and decided to make the most of our extended stay and getaway for an experience. From the moment we contacted Jo hosting The Green Tent our adventure began.
The Green Tent surpassed our expectations in so many ways. The location, unique setup and enormous tent had all the luxurious a couple could ask for. Tucked away in the tent was even a bunk where you could hide two little one and you would not know they were even there.
From the fire pit to the large outside bath and all the beautiful treats left by Jo, The Green Tent was spectacular!

I HIGHLY recommend staying at the Green Tent! My husband and I stayed there for two nights on a little getaway before welcoming our first baby. It was sooo relaxing and a perfect way to reset before our lives change. Jo's place has everything you could need and her communication makes the experience easy. Also, Matakana is just as relaxing and beautiful! If you stay here, you should definitely check out Matakana Market Kitchen...best breakfast ever!

Wow, what a lovely experience we had staying at The Green Tent. Jo has done a wonderful job at creating the perfect relaxing space, just what we needed for our anniversary/baby moon getaway.
Jo has thought of every little detail to make sure our stay was comfortable. From the beautiful natural/boho style decor to things like extra blankets, the super comfy bed with plugs on both sides, lamps in all the right places for ambience, bluetooth speaker, coffee machine, outdoor bath with robes and even nice local treats to only name a few!
We had rain so didn't get to use the outdoor fireplace but that just added to the atmosphere with the rain sounds on the roof.
I especially enjoyed a morning cuppa on the deck with the beautiful country view and sounds of nature.
I highly recommend The Green Tent and would love to come back and stay again.

The Green Tent absolutely blew us away from the moment we arrived. The pictures look beautiful, but once you see it in person, it's on a whole other level. Every single piece of furniture, decor, and hardware, right down to the cutting boards, has been so carefully curated by Jo, resulting in the most aesthetically pleasing experience! There's also a sense of local pride, with Jo kindly leaving us some goodies to try from local places in Matakana, which really was the cherry on top! The yurt is warm and cosy and feels like home. The indoor/outdoor flow is so wonderful as well. We easily worked from the yurt remotely during the day and stargazed from the fire pit at night, it was wonderful! Amazing location, whether you want to grab dinner in the village, or drive to Omaha for a beach day, it's too easy! Jo and Matt are so friendly, and you can really tell they put a lot of love into their property. We will 100% be back, over and over again!

This place is absolutely 10/10 in all ways. The yurt is fantastic and has everything you need, including a decent sized TV for wet days like we had.
