The yurt is really unique and it was a special and great experience! By far the best and most beautiful accommodation on our New Zealand trip! Perfect facilities! Helga was very warm and extremely hospitable.

We have spent a great few days at the Green Tent. It's a great place to relax in the middle of nature while at the same time being so close to Matakana, beaches. Staying in a Yurt was a first for us and it's been a great experience, so well appointed. A really really lovely stay and can't thank Helga enough for her hospitality and recommendations. We absolutely loved our stay at The Green Tent!
It was a peaceful, private oasis during a pretty lousy storm and we felt protected and enveloped by the warmth and comfort of the place while it rained non stop. I couldn’t think of better a nicer space to hunker down and just relax and spend time together.
There is plenty of room in the expansive, luxurious Yurt and the adjoining kitchen has everything you might need. I imagine when the weather is nice it would be just as magical and you would also be able to enjoy an outdoor fire and relaxing in the outside bathtub on a nice evening.
We look forward to staying again in either good or bad weather!

Beautiful place to stay, feels so secluded and private but is still so close to the shops in Matakana. Lovely food places and market near by, very clean and tiny also love the design of the space. Fire place outside was a nice touch on a cold night and the overall space is just so comfy!

The reviews sounded great, so did the photos, but the reality was beyond our expectations! We normally just stay in hotels, so this was outside the norm for us. Now, its hard to think we'd ever stay in a hotel again so enjoyable was the experience. Toasting marshmallows (kindly provided) by the fire, the total peaceful environment yet you're only a 15 min walk from the village, super comfortable bed we were asleep in minutes, tastefully decorated in natural woods and fibers. We would recommend this as "must have" experience in a heart beat. Thanks Jo, we loved our stay and have already recommended it to others :)

We had a fantastic stay at the green tent! The place is beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. It is well equipped everything you could need - a bbq, lots of blankets, and an outdoor fire to toast marshmallows on. The location is great as well - you can walk to Matakana in 15 mins via a cycle path. We would absolutely come back again!

Absolutely incredible experience staying at the Green Tent. This was our first stop after a 7000 mile flight, and it was the perfect way to immediately acclimate to the best of New Zealand. No pictures will adequately prepare you for the amazing sounds, smells and sights you’ll experience simply sitting on the deck and watching the sun rise and set. Just a perfect slice of the best of New Zealand. The proximity to Matakana is perfect as well. We were able to balance our time well between hopping around this area for shopping and hiking and then relaxing at the green tent. We cannot wait to stay here again.

Honestly the best AirBnB we’ve stayed in, everything was perfect and better than imagined (and we dreamed big!). Jo’s place has all the amenities for a more than Glamping style experience, the yurt itself is unique and bougee with quality furnishings, and comfy bed, pitch black at night but great for opening the windows and getting the nature feel in the morning. Big bathtub and cosy fire with a well stocked kitchen seals the deal. You feel very private despite being walking distance from the main house and Matakana village, only local cows for company, super quiet. Matakana itself is very dreamy, great pub, 8-Wired brewery and a lot of food options for the day and night.
Jo was very communicative providing lots of great recos before we arrived, super accommodating too (even provided us with some paddle boards so we could get out on the bay), certainly knows the local area well.
Would love to come stay again, still so much of the region to stay and no better place to stay in!

Jo's yurt was spectacular - even better than the photos! It was close to Matakana but far enough to feel like you're secluded a million miles away. Wow wow wow, this property is absolutely incredible, by a long shot it’s the best airbnb we have ever stayed at, clearly there was a vision of how they wanted to deliver this experience, and what an experience it is. There was not a stone left unturned, the concept is absolutely outstanding, the execution of the concept faultless, there is everything you need for an incredible couple of nights and the quality of fixtures and fittings and kitchen/bathroom etc is bang on. The location is only a couple a minutes drive from Matakana Village where there is some outstanding amenities to enjoy. But lets not forget the location of The Green Tent, omg so peaceful, quiet and incredibly relaxing. Jo is a fantastic host, she is there is assist if required or as distant as you may want. Honestly I couldn’t talk more highly of this property, it’s quite something, it’s a MUST stay, You will love everything about it. We will most certainly be back

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience at The Green Tent! We arrived on a very wet evening, but the instructions to get inside were super clear and easy to follow. Once we entered the tent, it was so lovely and warm with Jo having put the heater on for our arrival - a welcome reprieve from the weather outside. We found everything was tidy, clean, and beautifully presented; with everything we'd need for a relaxing and peaceful weekend getaway. There were lots of small touches that were so thoughtful that we appreciated very much too. The kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor area were beautifully coordinated with the whole olive-green theme. We loved the festoon lights and the outdoor bathtub. Jo was easy to communicate with and very responsive. We can't recommend this accommodation enough!!

Wow. What a beautiful stay. We loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to come back! Jo’s place is pristine - so clean and tidy, and everything seems brand new - from the cutlery to the linen. Stunningly designed interior and exterior. The yurt was beautiful. It’s larger on the inside than it looks on the outside.
There were great amenities in the yurt, the kitchen and the bathroom.
Everything was considered! Want to make s ’mores? Marshmallows and chocolate available. Want to have a warm, quiet stay in? Games are under the TV. We couldn’t recommend the stay more. Thanks Jo!

Absolutely stunning place! We spent two nights here for our mini-moon and enjoyed every minute, we didn't want to leave. The attention to detail Jo puts in is amazing, we didn't want for anything, nor would we have changed a single thing. We have been to many glamping spots around the country, and this was hands down the best. We explored the many gorgeous beaches, wine tasting at local vineyards, had the most delicious lunch at Rothko and walked through the Sculptureum, movies at the local cinema and dined out at JinJin and other local cafes. This was a birthday gift from our daughter and son in law and wow, wow, wow, Jo you have created a magical place! The yurt is so tastefully furnished with such attention to detail. The minute we arrived relaxation set in immediately. All of the little touches have truly made our stay amazing. The outdoor area being weatherproof and sheltered really adds to the ambience. To top off this piece of paradise, the outdoor bath with lovely little lanterns, looking out onto the empty fields and totally relaxing was the icing on the cake!
